Biography (from tpl.se)
Affection hailed from Askersund, Sweden and released one only single back in the spring of 1992. The band featured Henrik Eriksson and Gert Carlsson on guitars, Joakim Johansson on bass, Tim Carlsson on drums and a certain guy called Tom Karlsson on vocals. Tom Karlsson who were 16 years at the time of the recording would change his name to Nordahl (which was his Norwegian family name). Tom Nordahl would go on and win the Swedish talent competition Sikta Mot Stjarnorna in 1999 when he was imitating Jon Bon Jovi with the track Bed Of Roses. Nordahl has also competed in Melodifestivalen in 2000 and 2002. His solo album Tom Nordahl was released in 2002.

Affection recorded this single at the local Rolab Studios with engineering and studio owner Rolf Larsson on slide guitar. The ballad and title track Lights Out On The Playground were the flagship of the band and Tom vocals shine on this one. The band appeared in many local talent competitions and did a few gigs in their hometown. However the second spot seemed to have been marked for the band as it was here they ended on most talent competitions. After a few years Tom got tired and wanted to try something else so he and guitarist Gert Carlsson started an acoustic two piece act and did a few gigs. After a few more years he re-activated Affection with a new line-up and new material. After a few more talent competitions where the band ended second he decided to go on as a solo artist. Nordahl has recently been playing with the coverband N-B-G and his hardrock act Farbror Diesel.
