Biography (from booklet)
Way back in the early '80s we formed the band Blacksmith. We were influenced and inspired by the New Waveof British Heavy Metal in our young age. After a few years of hard rehearsals we got the chancce to record the 'Gipsy Queen' EP that was releaed in 1985. Bands like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Axe, Saxon and Michael Scchenker Group were our main influence. The hammond organ and high pitched vocals where our hallmark and something that became consistent for the band. The following 7" single 'Tomorrows's Mystery' of 1986, including also the ballad "The King Has Lost His Crown", evenc reached the charats in Jaapan and along with 'Gipsy Queen' are two released with huge demand from fans of Hard Rock aand Heavy Metal. There are a few unreleased songs from rehearsal recordings from the sencond line-up with Patrik Lämborg (guitars) and even if the quality is not good, I think now it's time to release a full CD from those Blacksmith years. It was a magic time and we hope you will appreciate those early recordings... Enjoy and as always - metal rules the land! - Per Englund (2018)
