TRACE was a group from Flen formed in 1980 by Thomas Johansson, Erik Hamnqvist, Niklas Lantz, Ola Lisell and Stockholm vocalist Christian Andersén. They did some live gigs and attended a talent show at Östermalms gymnasium -80/81. In 1983 they contributed with the songs "Rain" and "Kings' Coming" on the DuD compilation '3:an (1983)'.

Niklas and Ola also played in the punk band MAGISTER PERVERS. Christian would later join the Upplands Väsby band FED SCAVENGER (later known as ESCAPE and TROUBLESHOOTERS). He also did a demo in 1998 with the guitarist and drummer from TROUBLESHOOTERS and bassist Mats Pettersborg (ex-Dr. Alban). The project was called SUPERWAVE. In 1999 he sang on the ABRAMIS BRAMAS debut album "Dansa Tokjävelns Dans".

Christan and Thomas Johansson are today active in the band TISTEL.
Niclas Lantz works with theater and music, he have had big fame with his musicals.

EÖ: Spelade ni in några demos?

Interview with Christian Andersen (English)
EÖ: What city were TRACE from?
CA: We were a Flen Band, I lived in Stockholm, however, but had I had a summerhouse in Flen and was there with the band.

EÖ: How long did you play together?
CA: From 1980-86, I think

EÖ: Were any of the members active in other bands?
CA: Ola Lisell and Niklas Lantz played simultaneously in a punk band called Magister Pervers, very popular in Flen!

EÖ: Did you record any demos?
CA: No, only the studio recordings for 3.an.

I'm probably the only one who played a lot outside and did gigs with various groups. First Fed Scavenger and then we changed our name to Escape, we lived in Upplands Väsby. We made pretty good music. We made our own songs but was in the shadow of groups like Universe, Yngwie, Europe etc. (we were not as good and had a bit too little material) Then we changed our name again and called us Troubleshooters.

We niched on doing covers of old songs ZZ Top. Then it became more boogie covers and we gigged a lot.
Then I had a break but played on and off with Tomas from Trace. In 1998 I did a demo with guitarist and drummer from Troubleshooters, and with Mats Pettersborg (ex-Dr. Alban) on bass. You can search Piratebay for "Superwave". In 1999, I sang on the debut disc by Abramis Brama! The biggest I have done.

Now, Thomas, and I have taken up music making and has a music project we call Tistel. tistelmusik.se
