When the Stocholm based hard rock band ATC broke up in 1985 several members went on with a female vocalist called Yvonne Nordlund and formed DOWNTOWN. Yvonne had previously done some backing vocals on the first Jean Beauvoir album 'Drums Along The Mohawk'. They did a couple of shows and recorded a demo. Yvonne was kicked out soon after this since she often didn't show up at rehearsals and concerts because of a relationship that had ended. She was replaced by Magnus Lange who also had grown up in the Stockholm suburb Åkersberga just like Tommy Denander. He had a voice similar to David Coverdale but had different interests and the band drifted apart. In 1986 they changed their name to CHEESE. They recorded a single which they didn't take very seriously but it was reviewed in the British magazine Kerrang! The band probably broke up soon after this.
