Wearing nothing but the dirty shreds of her birthday dress, Molly entered her father's working chamber. Reverend Black looked at his daughter as if he had never seen her before, silently asking himself what kind of obscene forces had turned hid beloved child into this. She was remarkably taller and thinner, and her skin had the unhealthy hue of nicotine stained teeth. Her hair, usually well combed and shiny, now pointing in all directions like a cartoon electrocuted. Her eyes, however, was what startled him the most. Pitch black and dead they were, with not the slightest sign of soul reflection in them. It was like her real eyes had been replaced with sick soil. "They are coming after me, father. But you won't let them catch me, right?". He could feel the smell of filth and dead plants as she approached the desk. Suddenly it all became clear to him. His dear Molly was the killer that had been holding the town in terror since last week. From a distance he heard sirens, getting louder as eternal seconds passed. She dropped the dagger on the desk. Covered in dried blood it landed right on his holy Bible. "The blade is twofold sacred now. Hide it."
Three evenings later the door bell rang at the Reverend Roy Black mansion. He opened to find leutenant Barclay outside, this time wearing civilian clothers. "Reverend Black", he said. "I just came by to see how you are doing. Off duty, as you can see." "Than you, leutenant. I'm trying as hard as I can. With the help of God I'm sure I can make it through."
The blood red sun finally disappeared behind the hill outside town. An ice cold wind blew in from the north. Reverend Black looked up for a few seconds as if he was listening to something. "Come on in, Barclay.", he said. "Let's have a cup of tea in my study."
