Pipers Dawn (Swe)

The basis of what we later put together as Pipers Dawn, started playing in early '89 under the name of Gorement and the music was grinding death metal. During the next four years we released several demotapes, 7" EP`s and a CD all under the name of Gorement. Shortly after the CD was released, the drummer and the singer left the band, because of the progression into more heavy metal based music. We felt that it was time to start all over again, with a new music style, new drummer, new singer and a new name; Pipers Dawn. Robin Bergh, a technical and more heavy metal influenced drummer joined the band. He brought back the missing energy and made us work hard again. The idea of a female vocalist fronting the band was successfully tried out under a few weeks, resulting in Petra Albrecht taking a permanent place in the band. The female vocals brings the music more atmosphere and allows us to create varied harmonic and melodic music.

At present time we are working on new material and have just released a three-track demo- CD called 'Moonclad' wich was recorded in two days in studio IndoCaptor. We have recieved very good response for our work during the last six months, with 'Moonclad' and the gigs we have accomplished. The mix of the 70-, 80- and 90'ies heavy metal music together with female vocals, brings the harmonic and powerfull sound of Pipers Dawn. We really belive in what we`re doing and are now looking for a serious recordlabel to work with in forthcoming projects.

Admin notes: The 'Swallow This' CD compilation labels them as an Eskilstuna band, but all members were actually based in Nyköping. Only Patrik was living and studying in Eskilstuna at the time. Also Danne have never played in Moribound as staded by Metal-Archives.

The band recorded a demo in 1997 with Petra and another one in 1999 with new vocalist Jonny before splitting up in 2000.
