Official Bio (from CD booklet)
Painful Pride was formed slowly by Örjan Härdig and Tommy Carlström in a basement 1983 adding members as time went by. Finally inn 1984 the band was in full strength and was called Evil Vulture, then only Vulture. Members, Tommy, Örjan, Håkan Eriksson (drums), Johan Jansson (bass) and Kåre Ander (vocals). 1985 Kåre and Johan left the band and Peter Ljungqvist joined on Vocals and Marko Malstam on bass. A demo tape was recorded in May of 1986 ('Watch Out') and four more tunes was recorded in 1987 ("Time Goes By", "Into the Fire", "Shadow of the Past" and "Creation of Love"). The band split up for some time in 1987 but came together in 1988 now with Gert Anthony Cedergren replacing Örjan on guitar. Some gigs were played but the band was chattered in 1989. 1999 the band came together once again for a gig, now with Nicke Bäckman on bass and Jimmy Fahlin on drums, Örjan & Tommy on guitars with Örjan singing lead. Agay they split up for another decade but dang, this band is hard to kill. In 2009 Tommy and Örjan thought it would be cool to record some demos again, so they did ("Visions" and "What You Give Is What You Get"), now with Markus Nowak on drums, Örjan guitars, vocals and bass and Tommy on guitars. This project triggered something and the search for a drummer, bass player and vocalist begun. Soon, they once again was ain full force with the present lineup, did a reunion gig in 2013 with a record deal soon to follow, thanks to the king of Swedish underground metal, Emil Öhman who presented the band to his Greek contact at No Remorse Records, Andreas Andreou. With this album, the Painful Pride saga continues...
