Originally formed as X-Metal in 1983, the band changed its name to Screem in 1984, and in 1986 they recorded their only release - a 3-track demo tape titled 'Serpent Kiss'. Screem later evolved into a new project under the name Orion, which disbanded around 1987. In 2006, Screem reunited for a live performance, which was recorded and released on DVD.
Anders A later moved to the United States, while Anders B now resides in Slovakia.
The logo shown here was created after the demo release by Oskar Fredriksson, who has sadly passed away.
Official Biography (from 2021 reissue booklet) In the early 80s three guys were listening to the bands who rehearsed in "Bastun" (the sauna) in the samll town of Dals-Långed. They had a vision - to form a band - a true metal band in Dals-Långed. The guys were Mikael Johansson on drums, Tomas Ståhl on guitar and Martin Andreasson on bass. Martin soon left and was replaced by Bengt Tollemark and in August 1983 the band X-Metal was a fact.
In february 1984, they played their first live show in Dals-Långed. Later the same year the band was reinforced with guitarist Anders Bernson. The following year, the band made some vast changes. They drafted guitarist Anders Almqvist (ex-Az Axel), Bernson switched to playing bass and Bengt concentrated on handling the vocals. They also decided to change their name to Screem. They played a lot of shows and were known for using a lot of pyro, which involved setting fire to a stage, burning a stage hand and filling the rehearsal room with smoke. As the band's slogan read "No fear, in your face, game on!"
In february 1986, they entered the studio to record their first, and only, demo which featured three tracks: "Serpent Kiss", "Lonely Night" and "I Want You". The demo was recorded at Studiefrämjandet Studio in Vänersborg, February 15-16, 1986, by Anders Ekdahl.
