The music competition Rock of Bohuslän started in 1987 with 5 participating municipalities; Lyskil, Munkedal, Strömstad, Sotenäs and Tanum. The competition now includes 14 municipalities. From Mölndal in the south to Ströstad in the north. The organizers are the municipalities' culture and/or leisure administrations, leisure centres and in some cases music associations.
The purpose of Rock of Bohuslän is to give local music groups gigs and to show themselves. Approximately 140 participants/year. Each winning band in each municipality gets to participate on this compilation CD. These bands then get to compete for their own CD single recording and 300 CDs at the finals which took place in Sundahallen, Stenungsund in 1998.
We at Musikhuset thank everyone involved and regret that not everyone submitted information for the cover & also Härryda's absence. We also thank our understanding partners for their patience...
Thanks to: Leisure leaders and other leaders who make Rock of Bohuslän possible. All you young people who visit the event. Companies that sponsor and the study associations that are co-organizers. Stenungsund Municipality. Gothenburg and Bohuslän County Council. Nicko at the Music Hall in Uddevalla.
