Heavy Crew was formed from the ashes of the band Freegit with a new vocalist and guitarist. The band wrote their own songs as well played covers of bands such as Judas Priest, Thin Lizzy and Black Sabbath. They performed at school dances, youth recreation centers, rock galas and got to open for the band Sky High (march 1981). The band split ca 1983 and the drummer & bassist formed the hard/blues rock act Nightmare (which later became Vixen).
