Backstage enters it's fifth year as a magazine. Worth celebrating, right? At least that's what we at the editorial office thought, but in what way? after various divisions, the idea was born to compile an exclusive CD as a thank you to all readers who have been faithful to the magazine over the years, and who have supported us from our first staggered steps up to what the magazine is today. Right from the beginning, it was a given that we would try to have the same width of the material on the CD as we have in the zine. We also strove to find the right mix of established and new names. We know we didn't quite cover the full musical spectrum (putting the record together hasn't been entirely painless) but it didn't turn out too bad, did it? we are sure that most of you will find something to your liking. Many of the songs can be found on the respective band/artist's own records, which you should of course buy, but much of the material cannot be found anywhere else but on this record. Our hope is that this CD turns out well so that it becomes an annual recurring "surprise"! Now Backstage will not alone take all the "credit" for the record, it is compiled in collaboration with the participating bands and their record companies. So support them (but mostly because it's good) by buying their records. They are worth it!!! - The Backstage editorial office
