Bio from the book Håll Käft!
(local bands from Västervik).
The hard rock band Thunder was formed in Västervik in 1985 by Mats Pettersson - guitar, Eddie Erixon - guitar, Henrik Johansson - bass and Jocke Ringdahl - drums, the same year Staffan von Arbin also played keyboards in the band. In 1987 they had brought in Anders Schepp on vocals and Niclas Svensson as a new drummer. The following year Fredrik "Frippen" Andersson became Thunder's third drummer. Among other things, Thunder played at the rock group gala at Centrumgården in Västervik in March 1987 and at the rock gala in the sports hall in 1988.

In 1989 they changed singer to Linus Holgersson, who is the younger brother of Peter who sang in Orion's Sword and Violet Rose. So the singing talent ran in the family. This year would be the most productive in Thunder's history. They recorded two demo cassettes in IL-Studion in Västervik and two demo cassettes in PLC studion in Hultsfred. They played at two rock band galas, one in Västervik and one in Gamleby, and did a gig at Galejan in Oskarshamn. They also played in Vimmerby and Oskarshamn's Folkets Park.

Thunder recorded their single 'Party' at PLC Studion in Hultsfred in 1989. Unfortunately, it arrived with misdrilled and oval holes, so the entire delivery had to be sent back and redone. But by the time the new singles arrived in Västervik, the band had unfortunately almost folded. They did play at a rock band gala in Gunnebo in 1990. After the band folded, Eddie Erixon moved to the USA to study guitar at GIT in Los Angeles. Linus then started singing and "Frippen" play drums in the band NMA. Mats went on to play in several different bands in the city. Eddie eventually ended up in Stockholm, where he now plays in the cover band Beeflat.

Info from Janne Starks Encyclopedia

Thunder were formed as a high school band in 1987 and recorded four demos before the single. The band actually disbanded when the single was released. Eddie went to study at GIT and now plays in cover band Beeflat, while Pettersson recorded with Two Eagles Request (aka T.E.R.) and played with metal cover band Noztalgica. Linus (also Two Eagles Request) and Fredrik plays in cover band N.M.A. Rumors of an existing single entitled "Tyrant's Castle" is false.

Admin notes: Thunder did a reunion tour in 2013 and gig in 2015.
