Oxan Story
It began in the spring of 1974 in a basement on Drottninggatan in Västerås. With an orchestra vehicle in the form of a wheelbarrow, the equipment was transported to the first rehearsal. A month later on May 17, Oxan had their first gig in a scout venue on Pettersberg. The gig was then followed up by a further 76 gigs until May 1981 in Fagersta, talent –81. A single was released in March 1980 'Sommarmorgon / Rock'n Roll Kung'. In 2018, a nostalgia party was organized where bands affiliated with the music association contemporary music provided the entertainment. Oxan then reunited on stage, which gave them something to look forward to and has now resulted in some new projects with recordings of old and new material and upcoming release gigs.
In addition to the band's original members Birger Wallsten, Lars Alehag, & Henning Eckerborn a number of other people have participated during the journey. Kenneth Willgren - Accordion, first gig: Hans Alehag - Guitar and mentor. First year Peter Johansson - Drums, Bertil Söderberg - Guitar, Tommy Thuresson - Bass, Dino "Dynamit" Nicolaides - Guitar. From May 1979 P.A. Norbäck - Slide Guitar on the single, Teuvo Kanerva - Vocals, Flute, Anders Altzarfeldt - Hammond and other keyboards, he's active in the current lineup.
