When Candlemass took a break, and Leif Edling formed Abstraks Algebra, Candlemass members Lasse, Mats and Janne formed the band Zoic. They drafted Veni Domine singer Fredric Olson and bassist Peter Edwards. Zoic is quite different from Candlemass, more in the vein of Crimson Glory, especially with Olson's high pitch vocals, but with a less proggy and more doomy approach. Crimson Glory singer Midnight was actually supposed to guest on the album, but it never happened. In 2004, when Candlemass was having another break, Johansson and Lindh formed the band Creozoth.
