Info from Janne Stark's Encyclopedia
They were originally formed in 1987 under the moniker Scandinavian Dynamite but when singer Tomas Vikström joined in 1988 they changed their name to Talk Of The Town. The line-up consisted of singer Thomas Vikström, guitarist Antonio Saluena, bassist Jonas Olsson, keyboardist Mats Jacobsson and drummer Staffan Scharin. The debut was certified gold and the album sold around 35.000 copies, which is very good in Sweden. They even had a hit with the song "Free Like An Eagle". The band split in 1990 due to management problems. Tomas and Antonio reformed the band with Johan Kullberg on drums, Joachim Uddling on keyboards and Staffan Linder on bass, but in 1992 Tomas left to join Candlemass. He recorded the album 'Chapter VI' and 4-track CD 'Sigge Fürst' with the band before he went solo. After Tomas left, Conny Lind took over, but they soon broke up.

Conny was later in State of Mind, Raceway and Amaze Me. Johan was later in Lion's Share and he also backs Tomas on his solo album. Jonas was ex-ATC and later backed pop/rock singer Mikael Rickfors, Antonio played in a cover band, Staffan joined Alien in 1994 and Joachim was in dance/poppers Suzz. Talk Of The Town recorded a great second album that was never released. However negotiations were taking place. The 1999 release of 'Talk Of The Town' is a reissue of the debut also featuring 2 previously unreleased tracks, four tracks from 'Reach For The Sky' and two tracks from Vikströms solo release. Also playing on the 'Talk Of The Town' 1999 release were drummer Jonas Kullberg, bassist Staffan Linder and keyboardist Mats Olausson (Yngwie Malmsteen, Motvind, etc).

The last album featured various musicians besides Thomas and Antonio, such as guitarist Tommy Denander (who also wrote 90% of the material), bassist Claes "Fille" Lindström (Benny Jansson, Blacksmith), drummer Anders Wetterström, keyboardist Mats Jacobsson and backing singer Geir Rönning (Prisoner).

Former member Jonas Olsson was later on the Swedish TV show "Gladiators", known as Titan.

Official Bio (from 1999 reissue booklet)
Talk Of The Town evolved from a band known as Scandinavian Dynamite. Scandinavian Dynamite participated in the competition Storstadsrock / Big City Rock at the same time as my former band Octagon – at that time a loving or hating Mötley Crüe influenced bunch. Scandinavian Dynamite won the competition. Being a really bad loser I tried to forget about the band as quickly as possible. The next time the name Scandinavian Dynamite popped up, was when they asked me to be their new vocalist. We went to record a demotape in the Thunderload studios, owned by Ragne and Styrbjörn - known from the cult-band Heavy Load. Obviously a success, the demo made it possible for us to sign a contract with the first company we talked to.

Me and Antonio had started taking over the songwriting and came out as the spokesmen of the band, by now called Talk Of The Town. We recorded our first album in Glen Studios in Stockholm. "Free Like An Eagle" was chosen as the first single, something I personally didn't agree with. The song was written in a moment of panic, just to fill the album. After some time my attitude towards the song was proven wrong. "Free Like An Eagle" sold gold and the album went nearly as high in sales. We went on tour and did everything included in tour life (except drugs) – and we might very well have left some babies with poodle haircuts behind us. We were really young and coming back from touring, the band ended up in a void we never managed to break free from.

Me and Antonio kept writing songs, good ones, but we never managed to recapture the spirit and hunger we had felt when touring. Seeing other opportunities I left the band. Eight years later we released a compilation of demos named 'Reach For The Sky'. Right now we're back on track, working with a brand new album. - Thomas Vikström
